One of the dumbest suggestions made here was when McCain Suggested dropping the gas tax for the summer.
Higher gas tax would indeed promote some useage reduction.
Although I consider our recent past extreme gas prices to be gouging they were high enough to
pound a little sense" into the high powered Big SUV buyers heads.
The high gas prices have stimulated at least two things - lower prices and 0% interest on those big SUVs; and long lines for Priuses.
